JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot in the Lake Forest Hills area around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
In the 6900 block of Restlawn Drive, police said a man sustained a minor injury to his foot treated by medical personnel on the scene. The agency said his injuries were non-life-threatening.
The victim and two suspects were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical, where "one of the suspects displayed a machete and the other presented a handgun," JSO said. When the victim attempted to run away, the suspect fired a shot in his direction, hitting him once in the foot.
Both suspects then fled the area in a white SUV. The agency said it has limited information about the suspects.
