Police say former Brunswick crime and safety reporter posted sexual photo of a minor to social media

Lawrence "Larry" Hobbs was arrested after an investigation by the Glynn County Police and GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Lawrence "Larry" Hobbs of Brunswick was arrested at his home Thursday after police tracked the source of a social media post.

The Glynn County Police Department says Hobbs posted a "lewd" picture of a minor, leading to charges of sexual exploitation of children (possession) and sexual exploitation of children (distribution).

When police interviewed Hobbs, he confessed to crimes related to these charges, GCPD said.

The Brunswick News confirmed on their website that Hobbs was a former employee there.

According to the Brunswick News, Hobbs began working there in 2015 and covered crime and safety full-time until the end of 2022. He has freelanced since.
