Police: Man shot in the back at apartment complex on Jacksonville's Westside

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the man was hospitalized and is listed in non-life-threatening condition.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are asking the public for information after a man was shot in the back while walking in an apartment complex on Jacksonville's Westside Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO's Sergeant Scott says at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded a call of a person shot at Seaboard Oaks Apartments, located at 5700 Fishing Pen Creek Ct. When officers arrived, Scott says they found the man suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition, JSO says. There is currently no suspect description, according to Scott.
