An agent with the Jacksonville Federal Bureau of Investigation was able to apprehend four bank robbery suspects in a "felony takedown" on Jacksonville's Westside on Tuesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says that one of the suspects, a woman, is claiming that she was forced to commit the crime.
Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at the SunTrust located at 700 S. Lane Ave.
That's when police say the woman walked into the bank, wrote a note and slipped it over to the banker. Police say that the note said the bank was being robbed and asked the banker to give her money. The note also said there was a car outside with three people outside helping her.
That's when the banker hit the panic button, police say.
Officers were dispatched and an FBI agent who was in the area went to the bank and saw the car that the tree suspects were in. Police say the agent was able to conduct a "felony takedown.”
The woman was detained inside the bank.
Police all four suspects are currently detained. They include the woman who was inside the bank, another woman and two men.
Police say they did find a weapon that was not a gun inside the bank but wouldn’t go into further detail. No charges have been filed yet.
Officers don’t believe it has anything to do with the two bank robberies over the weekend
