JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering after he was shot while driving on 103rd Street Monday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 9500 block of 103rd Street in reference to a person shot.
Officers located a man with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
Police said the initial investigation showed the victim was driving westbound on 103rd Street when a black four-door sedan approached him at high speed. The suspected vehicle shot at the victim several times, striking him in the neck and shoulder.
According to police, the suspected vehicle fled the area traveling east on 103rd Street.
This shooting marks at least the seventh time a person was shot in a moving vehicle in Jacksonville in the last couple of months.
JSO detectives were on the scene canvassing for possible surveillance video and witnesses.
