KINGSLAND, Ga. — A Kingsland, Georgia woman was fatally stabbed by her husband last Friday, according to a report from the Kingsland Police Department released Tuesday.
At 6:08 p.m., police responded to a distress call regarding a domestic incident at a home on Cypress Drive.
They found the victim, Theresa A. Desroriers, with multiple stab wounds.
They arrested Eugene E. Desrosiers at the scene. Police say he is the victim's husband.
He is facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes and aggravated battery.
Theresa Desroriers was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The charges against her husband are expected to be upgraded now that she has died, according to KPD.
A witness who had also been harmed during the altercation was able to talk with police at the scene and give statements on what happened, KPD said.
