Police: Juvenile hit by bullet fired from outside Northwest Jacksonville home

​The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Bullets fired from outside a Northwest Jacksonville home Saturday morning hit a juvenile inside, sending her to the hospital.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the shooting which happened around 5 a.m. Saturday in the 10000 block of Cisco Drive.

The victim, who was shot once in the foot, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. 

Police said the initial investigation showed multiple shots were fired from outside the home and one of the bullets struck the victim in the foot. 

Other family members were in the home at the time of the shooting, but no one else was hit by gunfire, according to police.

Detectives were on the scene canvassing for possible surveillance video and speaking with witnesses.

Police did not provide any suspect information. The investigation remains ongoing.
