2 JSO corrections officers arrested, charged with abusing disabled inmate

The sheriff's office said the abuse was caught on camera at the pre-trial detention center and an investigation ensued.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two corrections officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office resigned Wednesday after they were arrested and charged with abusing a disabled inmate, according to JSO.

JSO said it received information about the reported incident on Sunday, March 15. The sheriff's office said the abuse was caught on camera at the pre-trial detention center and an investigation ensued. 

Officers Steven Greenaway and Timothy Burcham were arrested. Greenaway and Bercham have been with JSO for two years and three-and-a-half years respectively. Both resigned following their arrests and are charged with the abuse of a disabled adult without causing great bodily harm.
