JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A person is dead after a shooting outside a business in Jacksonville's Brentwood neighborhood Saturday night.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers were dispatched to a local hospital at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers learned of a crime scene related to the shooting located in the 4000 block of North Main Street.
Members of JSO's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit, along with the members of the State Attorney's Office are conducting investigations both at the hospital and where the crime occurred.
Drivers were redirected from the area after police closed off N Main Street for the investigation.
Several people have been detained for questioning to determine their involvement in the incident. Police believe this is an isolated incident.
The preliminary investigation suggests an altercation inside an unnamed business moved outside into the parking lot, ending with the victim being shot.
The victim then "self-transported" themselves to the hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
Right now, no one has been arrested.
The deadly shooting comes just hours after a man was shot and killed inside a vehicle in Jacksonville's Moncrief area, less than three miles away.
