BUNNELL, Fla. — A Palm Coast man was indicted Friday in an overdose investigation beginning two years ago.

Brian Pirraglia, 42, is accused of selling laced drugs to a victim found dead of a fentanyl overdose at a home on Blasdell Court in Palm Coast on Feb. 8, 2022.

A two-year investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Major Case Unit led to Pirraglia's arrest. After conducting "dozens" of interviews and spending "countless" hours reviewing forensic evidence, FCSO Detective Adam Gossett obtained arrest warrants on several people related to the case, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

One of those people was Pirraglia, who was determined to have sold the victim drugs laced with fentanyl, which led to their death, police say.

FSCO was assisted by its special investigations unit, crime scene investigations unit, community policing division, real time crime center and the 7th Circuit State Attorney's Office Homicide Investigation Unit.

“I want to commend all our units and everyone who was involved in this investigation for their hard work and persistence to bring this poison peddler to justice,” said Sheriff Rick Staly in a statement. “Years ago, I directed that all overdose deaths be investigated as a murder. If you are a drug dealer and sell a fatal dose of poison in Flagler County, even if it takes two years, we are going to get you. Hopefully, he will have a long time in state prison to think about the death he caused and the damage he has done to individuals and families selling his poison.”
