JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person was pronounced dead at a home in the Oakleaf at 10900 Stapleton Drive Thursday afternoon, the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department has confirmed.
One person was taken to the hospital by JFRD with life-threatening injuries. Another patient was taken to the hospital by the Clay County Fire Rescue.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says there was a stabbing at the home. Sources tell First Coast News more than one person at the scene was stabbed.
JSO says this incident may involve a suicide attempt.
A neighbor told First Coast News that a woman who is friends with his family came to his door around 1:25 p.m., saying she had been stabbed. She told the neighbor her son was "stabbing everyone" inside the home, including his father.
First Coast News also spoke with a neighbor who lives next door to the home where the stabbing happened.
She said she was not home when the incident happened, but she came home to find blood on her doorbell camera.
The neighbor said she heard from another neighbor about what happened and the parents were "sweet."
"I was devastated. I mean, they're such great neighbors and never suspected anything like this at all,” the neighbor said.
