Officers arrest teen in connection to Northside shooting that injured two 15 year olds

Xavier Grant was charged with shooting deadly missiles into a dwelling, possession of a firearm under 18, and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested a teen stemming from a Saturday shooting at 2838 Lippia Road in Magnolia Gardens.

Xavier Grant Jr., 17, was charged with shooting deadly missiles into a dwelling, possession of a firearm under 18, and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

According to JSO, officers responded to a 15-year-old girl shot multiple times around 6 a.m. at 2838 Lippia Road on the Northside. Police say another 15-year-old boy who was shot once in the home and drove himself to the hospital.

According to the arrest report, one of the victims said they woke up after being shot and there had been no prior issues in the home. The report said Grant told officers he fell asleep at the Lippia Road house, he "saw blood and then ran across the street to the abandoned house and fell asleep." 

In the heavily redacted report, officers observed blood on Grant's shorts.
