OCALA, Fla. — An Ocala man is in custody after police said he filmed children at a Walmart, stemming from a Aug. 9 incident at a store.

The Ocala Police Department responded to a Walmart at 2600 SW 19th Avenue Rd. where Joshua Gaines, 32, was found secretly recording customers, according to OPD.

Police said Gaines pretended to shop, using a concealed camera within a small black bag to capture video of children. Gaines was accused of similar conduct last year and told not to return to the store.

Walmart's Asset Protection Investigator recognized Gaines in the store showing the same behavior, primarily in the back-to-school section, OPD said.

During the investigation, officers found Gaines had a GoPro camera and two cellphones in his possession. After acquiring a warrant, officers discovered "a clear pattern of digital voyeurism" from Gaines.

A search found hundreds of images of child pornography as young as approximately six years of age, police said.

Gaines now faces 10 charges of digital voyeurism and 403 charges of possession of child pornography.
