Northside shooting leaves man in critical condition after 'dispute,' police say

The shooting occurred in the 2000 block of North Davis Street.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the abdomen Sunday on the Northside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded around 11:40 a.m. to a man in his 40s shot near the 2000 block of North Davis Street. He suffered one gunshot wound to the abdomen and is in critical condition at a local hospital, police said.

The shooting followed a dispute between a suspect and the victim and is no longer a threat to the community, according to JSO.

JSO said the interview process is underway and that the agency is working to obtain a search warrant for a residence. The investigation is ongoing.
