CCSO: Multiple dead animals found in Middleburg woman's home

Deputies discovered skeletons of animals after investigating a dog that was malnourished and had a loss of fur near a Middleburg home.

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — Authorities say a Middleburg woman is responsible for multiple dead animals found outside and inside her home, according to a Clay County Sheriff's Office report.

According to an arrest report, deputies responded to 2275 Maluke Lane on Sept. 8 to investigate a German Shepard that appeared malnourished and "having a loss of fur on its body."

Kjaristy Levo, 38, was charged with three counts of aggravated animal cruelty and a count of animal abandonment.

Deputies then found two dead dogs in metal cages outside the residence, and a decomposing cat inside the residence. The report said a "dead and skeletonized" bearded dragon and gecko lizard were also found inside the home.

An arrest was made by Clay County Sheriff's Office deputies on Monday.

The redacted reports omit Levo's responses and what happened to the German Shepard.
