McDonald's employee arrested for attempted murder after shooting at co-worker, Lake City police say

Jaden Davis, 24, is accused of shooting at a co-worker after a verbal argument Tuesday morning.

LAKE CITY, Fla. — A McDonald's employee is facing charges after a dispute with a co-worker turned violent Tuesday, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Jaden Davis, 24, is accused of shooting at a co-worker after a verbal argument Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a local McDonald's around 10:45 a.m. regarding a complaint of a disturbance on the property.

As officers responded to the scene, they received more information that an armed employee, now identified as Davis, had shot at another employee. When officers arrived, they found Davis on a nearby street.

Police said Davis fled from officers who then pursued him. He was ultimately taken into custody without injury to himself or officers.

As officers detained Davis they located a firearm in his waistband, police said.

The initial investigation revealed that Davis was involved in a verbal argument with a co-worker inside the McDonald's when things turned physical. Police said the two employees were separated but ended up outside the restaurant where the dispute continued.

As the victim tried to leave, police said Davis pulled out a firearm and shot at the victim.

Davis was booked into the Columbia County Jail on charges of attempted homicide, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
