A man suspected of two separate murders in Atlantic Beach and East Arlington was arrested Monday morning in Virginia by the U.S. Marshals and Norfolk Police Department, according to a U.S. Marshals spokesperson.
John Emory Wilson was arrested at 9:30 a.m. after he was spotted walking into the Tinee Giant grocery store at 7101 Sewells Point Rd. in Norfolk, the spokesperson said.
Wilson was taken into custody upon leaving the store.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Wilson is a suspect in the murder of Dylan McCurdy, 26, who was found dead on the side of a road in Atlantic Beach back in April.
McCurdy was found at 1100 Featherwood Drive South, about a mile from his home, police said.
Wilson is also a suspect in the murder of 32-year-old Trevor Neal Matthew who was found dead from a gunshot wound in the 200 block of St. Johns Bluff Road, according to JSO.
Wilson is facing two counts of murder in the second degree and two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, JSO said.
