ORANGE PARK, Fla. — After a large crowd was dispersed from the Orange Park Mall Saturday, a man was shot in the arm as the crowd moved toward the AMC Theater parking lot, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
Around 9:30 p.m., a "series of gunshots" was heard by responding deputies, the agency said. The victim approached deputies after the shooting and was taken to HCA Orange park with non life-threatening injuries and what appears to be a gunshot wound to the arm, CCSO said.
The agency said the incident started with a group of juveniles trespassing that deputies had to disperse from the mall.
Sheriff Michelle Cook has asked for anyone with knowledge of the fight call 904-264-6512 or who has video of the fight to contact the SaferWatch app.
The investigation is ongoing.
