JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the chin while sitting in a vehicle in the Alderman Park area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the 800 block of Alderman Road in reference to a shooting.
Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the chin. He was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition, according to police.
Police say the preliminary investigation shows the victim was sitting in his vehicle when an unknown suspect approached him. An altercation began between the victim and suspect which led to the suspect discharging multiple shots at the victim.
No suspect is in custody and police do not have a suspect description at this time.
Detectives were on scene speaking with witnesses and canvassing for video surveillance.
