Man shot in back by bullet fired from outside Biltmore residence, police say

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said no suspect is in custody.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering after he was shot by a bullet fired from outside while inside a residence in Jacksonville's Biltmore area Sunday morning.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the 5300 block of Chenango Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. in reference to a person shot. 

Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

He was taken to the hospital and is in non-life-threatening condition, according to police.

Police said the initial investigation determined the man was inside the residence when he was shot by a suspect who was outside the residence.

Right now, no suspect is in police custody.
