Police: Man shot after 'fighting over gun' with suspect in middle of Arlington road

Police are investigating whether of not the suspect shot the victim intentionally or unintentionally.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering after a shooting in Jacksonville's Arlington area Monday afternoon.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, around 2:45 p.m., two men were fighting over a gun in the middle of the 2000 block of River Bluff Road N. when one of them was shot in the arm.

Police said the victim was a man in his early 20s.

JSO Sergent Karen Dukes described the shooting as a domestic situation that has been contained.

Right now, police don't know if the shot was fired intentionally or unintentionally.

The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives conducted interviews and gathered information on the suspect, and his possible motive.

Dukes added detectives are processing physical evidence that was found at the crime scene.
