Man in critical condition after shooting in Ortega Farms, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot early Saturday morning in the Ortega Farms area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 3 a.m., the sheriff's office said officers were dispatched to Timawatha Avenue and they found a man in his mid-20s shot, suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The agency said there was an argument among people who knew each other. During the argument, police said, the victim was shot one time in the abdomen. All people involved in the shooting have been detained and speaking with detectives, according to JSO.
