JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as Phillip Leander Bellamy, 43.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for suspects after a man was found shot to death in a truck on the Westside around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Police found a man in his 40s inside a blue truck at 2800 Webster St. in Lackawanna. The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officers said the shooting did not extend beyond the vehicle.
After canvassing the neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said there is one, potentially two, suspects fleeing the scene in dark clothing. Officers did not provide an age range for the suspects and could say what the relationship between the shooters and victim was.
JSO continues to evaluate the circumstances on scene and is looking for surveillance. The investigation is ongoing and classified as "pending," officers said.
