JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was found dead by police serving a wellness check in the 5600 block of Merrill Road Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
At 2:15 p.m., officers arrived after a call from a concerned friend, and found the man inside his apartment.
He was determined to be in his 50's.
The Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the cease of death.
JSO says detectives are on the scene and the nature of the man's death is "suspicious."
Police suspect foul play was involved.
