JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A person has been detained after a stabbing on the Westside that resulted in the death of a man.
Officers responded to the 7200 block of Kivler Drive shortly after 6:20 p.m. Friday, according to JSO after two people were involved in "some sort of dispute over money" and one of them was stabbed.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to render aid but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person involved has been detained, JSO said.
JSO is investigating the dispute and the relationship of the people involved. The classification of the incident is "pending," JSO said.
"We will continue to investigate and coordinate our efforts with our partners at the Medical Examiner’s Office and State Attorney’s Office," the agency said.
