Man 'critical' after shooting in Northwest Jacksonville

The suspect in the case was driving an older model four-door silver vehicle with tinted windows, according to JSO.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting at an apartment complex in Northwest Jacksonville Friday night and investigators are still searching for the suspect, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers were called to the Hilltop Apartments, located in the 1600 block of West 45th Street, following reports of a shooting just after 8 p.m, investigators on scene told First Coast News. That's where they found a man in his early 20's who had been shot.

The victim was taken to UF Health, where he's listed in critical, but stable condition, police said. Multiple shots were fired and the victim was hit in the chest, but it's not yet clear how many times he was shot.
