JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man is in custody after he fired his gun at a man several times following a crash near a Walgreens.
Eric Stallings, 61, was charged with attempted murder.
JSO said at approximately 4:49 p.m. Sunday, officers made contact with a man who had been shot. The victim said a truck had cut him off and collided with the truck's rear-end.
The report redacted what took place but said the victim was bleeding from the right side of his face and applying pressure when officers arrived. The officers observed a laceration to the right jaw near the man's ear and two punctures on his cheek bone and nostril. Officers also observed bullet holes in the victim's vehicle.
Witnesses heard gunfire and multiple witnesses inside Walgreens saw the victim run inside.
The victim was taken to UF Health and later discharged, police said.
Stallings was arrested at the Gate gas station after calling police dispatch himself. Stalling's interview with detectives was redacted.
