LAKE BUTLER, Fla. -- A Union County man faces a murder charge in connection to the shooting death of his relative, according to the Sheriff's Office.
An argument between Thomas Wayne Powell, Jr., 38, and James Ray Forsyth, 61, both of Lake Butler, inside a car turned violent March 5 when Powell shot Forsyth, deputies say.
Forsyth died of a single gunshot wound at the scene, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Powell was initially booked into the Union County Jail that day on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Powell was arrested Wednesday on an additional charge of first-degree murder.
He's due in court on Thursday.
