Kimberly Kessler to appear in court on Halloween

Kimberly Kessler, who is facing murder charges in the death of a Nassau County mother, will appear before a judge on Halloween.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Just one day after she was found competent to stand trial, accused killer Kimberly Kessler is scheduled to appear before a judge on Halloween.

Kessler, who is also known as Jennifer Sybert, is facing a murder charge in the death of Joleen Cummings. Joleen Cummings is a mother from Nassau County who was reported missing on Mother's Day 2018 and hasn't been seen since.

In July, Kessler was initially ruled by a judge to be incompetent to stand trial, but on Tuesday, doctors said Kessler is capable of returning to court.

Kessler has maintained her innocence throughout her legal proceedings by entering a "not guilty" plea.

Kessler will appear in court at 8:30 a.m.
