JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A juvenile was shot while ridding in a car by an unknown suspect in another vehicle, the victim told the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Saturday morning.
The juvenile was treated for minor injuries at UF Health Jacksonville, police said.
Two off-duty JSO officers at UF Health at 11:52 p.m. were told of a person shot seeking treatment and put the call out to JSO headquarters.
Patrol units found the juvenile, who JSO reported was less than forthcoming about what had happened and how he got shot, but eventually told police that he was at a party at an unknown location near the Publix Warehouse on the Westside in an unknown vehicle, with an unknown person.
While in the car, he was shot by an unknown suspect from another unknown vehicle, JSO said.
They were on New Kings Road somewhere near the intersection of Soutel Drive.
JSO reportedly responded to the area near the Publix Warehouse and the area around the intersection of New Kings and Soutel, but found no suspects or a crime scene.
Police report that there's no other suspect information at this time, but said that if any members of the public know anything about this crime to contact them immediately.
