JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Four people were shot during an incident in Jacksonville's Historic Eastside Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO says the victims range in age from teenagers to adults in their mid-40s. Three of them are expected to be OK, however, JSO says one in critical condition.
They were not specific as to how old the person in critical condition is.
At approximately 1:39 p.m., JSO patrol officers responded to the Huron-Sophia Street Apartments located at 2800 Sophia Street in reference to a person who had been shot. Around the same time, a nearby hospital notified police that four victims had just walked in with gunshot wounds.
Police believe the victims were approached by at least two suspects who began firing at the group. The act was seemingly not random, JSO says.
Right now, officials do not believe there is any outstanding threat to the public. Police did not say if anyone was currently in custody related to this crime.
This incident may involve multiple scenes, police say.
