JSO: Woman shot multiple times in Lake Forest area, suspect arrested

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was detained by police Tuesday morning after a woman was found shot multiple times in the Lake Forest area Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 6:15 a.m. officers responded to the 7800 block of Marion Street in reference to a shooting. 

When officers arrived, they located a woman in her 50s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to JSO.

A man, who is known to the victim, is currently detained by police as a person of interest. 

Patrick Joseph Sicard, 56, was arrested in the case. He is facing charges of attempted murder in the first degree. 

Sicard and the victim lived in the same house, police records show. Sicard's mother-in-law found the victim after she heard two loud bangs. 

When police came to the residence, they found a camouflage backpack was found on a couch next to the front door. There were letters in the backpack, including one that said "to the world." The rest of the letter is redacted from the police report.

Police found blood and bullet casings in the house.
