JSO: Woman arrested, accused of fatally stabbing boyfriend inside home on Jacksonville's Northside

The woman's arrest report states that her boyfriend was found "in a pool of blood" once officers arrived at the scene.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was arrested Monday morning, as police have charged her with her boyfriend's murder which happened Sunday night inside of a home on Jacksonville's Northside, according to the sheriff's office.

Brittany Bryant, 26, is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of 34-year-old Devvin McCray.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office previously told First Coast News three people were detained after McCray was found dead inside of a home on 3rd Avenue. It is unknown whether if Bryant was included in the three people that were detained for questioning or not.

JSO Sergeant Reed said at approximately 9:40 p.m. Sunday, patrol officers responded to a home on 3rd Avenue in reference to a "well being check."

When officers arrived, McCray was found "unresponsive," as members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded and pronounced him dead, police say. Bryant's arrest report mentions McCray "could be seen through a side window of the residence, and he was lying face down in a pool of blood."

"There was blood splatter all over the window and the room the victim could be seen in through the window," the report states.

The Medical Examiner's Office says McCray suffered at least one stab wound to his chest and one to his back.

One person who was being questioned by investigators and whose identity is unknown because of the redacted report, told police Bryant and McCray "have been known to fight a lot and batter each other," according to the report. The same person also said Bryant suffers from schizophrenia.

Two other people interviewed by JSO told investigators that Bryant is diagnosed with schizophrenia, too. They also said Bryant is pregnant with McCray's child and that they have "several children in common," the report notes.
