JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported shooting in Baldwin Wednesday night.
The shooting happened in the area of 100 Higginbotham St., according to JSO. Police arrived around 8:30 p.m.
When officers and Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department crews arrived on scene, they found a man lying on the side of the road with a single gunshot wound, police said.
JFRD assessed the victim and pronounced him dead at the scene.
JSO's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded and will be in charge of the investigation. Police said they have no suspect information at this time.
Detectives are canvassing for video and evidence. So far, one witness has been located and interviewed, police said.
