JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were shot in which one out of the two, died after a shooting occurred on Jacksonville's Southside early Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Sergeant Ray Reeves says around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to calls of gunfire on Bowden Road, at the intersection with Interstate 95. Upon arrival, Reeves says officers found the two men in a car stopped on the side of the road.
Police say the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was called to the scene, and once first responders arrived, they pronounced one of the unidentified men dead. JSO says the other man was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
First Coast News has a crew at the scene following the shooting, as police have been stopping by nearby gas stations in the area, working to get surveillance video.
“We’re working right now with our crime scene detective unit," Reeves said. "We’re pulling video surveillance and [are] conducting interviews, so again this is just very early on.”
