JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A robbery led to a shooting at a motel in the north side of Jacksonville Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
There were two victims of the shooting, according to authorities. Both are at UF Health in Jacksonville. One victim has critical wounds and the other's wounds are not life-threatening.
Police said that they responded to a call of a shooting at the Knights Inn on Harts Road in northern Jacksonville at 5:42 a.m.
An argument between two people turned violent, JSO said.
Robbery detectives were on scene early Sunday morning, and police indicated that they believe the argument and shooting were related to an attempted robbery.
At the time of reporting, officers were conducting a canvas of the motel and checking surveillance footage to try and learn something about potential suspects.
According to JSO, they believe the shooting to be an isolated incident and do not think that the people in the surrounding area are in any danger.
