JSO: Man shot while walking on Jacksonville's Southside

A man in his mid-20s was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized after a shooting near Beach Boulevard Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 11 a.m., officers responded to Saland Way in reference to a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police said the victim was walking down the street when an unknown suspect shot at him multiple times.

JSO's Crime Scene and Violent Crimes detectives were on the scene, canvasing for evidence and interviewing witnesses.

No suspect description was provided by police.
