JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for the person responsible for a shooting that left a man with two gunshot wounds Wednesday night.
Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to 300 N. Bowlan Street in reference to a person shot.
A man in his early 20s was found suffering from two gunshot wounds. Police said he was shot once in the torso and once in the lower leg.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported him to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
The victim and suspect are known to each other, according to police.
The preliminary investigation determined they were walking through a nearby park when the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.
Police said the shooting was "unprovoked."
After being shot, the man ran to a nearby apartment complex and waited for police to arrive, according to JSO.
The suspect, also a man in his early 20s, is not in police custody.
JSO Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene detectives were on scene canvassing the area for witnesses and possible video surveillance.
The investigation remains ongoing.
