JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering in the hospital after a drug deal ended with a shooting in the Highlands area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Pheasant Drive in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers found a man in the street, suffering from two gunshot wounds to the leg.
The man was taken to the hospital and is listed in non-life-threatening condition, according to JSO.
The initial investigation determined that the victim was engaging in a drug deal and was shot by an unknown suspect.
No suspect information was provided by police.
