JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was found dead inside of a home on Jacksonville's Westside just after midnight Monday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Shortly after midnight, JSO's Sergeant Ray Reeves says officers were called out to the 2500 block of Firestone Road in reference to a death investigation. When they arrived, they found the man dead inside of a home.
"Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit have responded and are conducting the investigation," Reeves said. "At this time, we believe this to be an accidental incident; however, the classification is pending."
JSO says investigative efforts will continue alongside the Medical Examiner's Office, as the sheriff's office adds that "this is an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community."
