JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was taken to a hospital Wednesday night after being robbed and shot in Jacksonville's Longbranch area on the city's Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO Sergeant Scott says around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the shooting, which happened near the intersection of Buckman Street and East 27th Street. When they arrived, the man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his hip, as he was then hospitalized in non-life-threatening condition.
"The initial investigation has revealed the victim was walking in the area when two unknown black males approached him, took his personal property, and shot him," Scott told First Coast News in a statement.
JSO does not have a description of the suspects at this time.
