JSO: Jacksonville man shot in the leg on the Westside

The shooting that left a man in his 40s injured occurred north of 103rd Street, with officers responding around 7:30 a.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot in the leg Wednesday morning as police search for a suspect, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to 8500 Osteen St. to a man wounded by a gunshot. A Black man in his 40s was taken to the hospital and later listed in non-life-threatening condition.

Police said it's unknown when the man was fired upon or if victim was from the immediate area. 

JSO said the victim was seated in vehicle when a suspect came up to him and shot him one time. The agency did not release suspect information.
