Teen found shot in vehicle on Fort Caroline Road, police say

The victim was shot at least one time in the neck/shoulder area.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are searching for a suspect after they found a teen shot in a car on Fort Caroline Road Sunday evening. 

JSO responded to a reported shooting in the 8500 block of Fort Caroline Road around 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual who had been shot at least one time inside a car.

He was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, JSO said.

At this time, police believe the actual shooting happened at the Topaz Plaza Apartments located at 3700 University Club Blvd.

The victim was shot at least one time in the neck/shoulder area. Police said he is under 18 years old and had called 911 himself.

Officers are early in their investigation and are searching for at least one suspect.
