JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office worked three homicide cases within nine hours on Saturday.
At 10:45 a.m., police were called to Rusty Lakes Lane on the Westside, where one woman was found shot dead outside of her home.
Neighbors said a woman was seen being questioned by police. Police announced an arrest shortly after 10 p.m. that night. Natosha Bailey, 46, has been charged with the murder of Sitoria Davis, 41.
At 2:45 p.m. on Ken Knight Drive on the Northwest side, one man was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Neighbors who called police described a black SUV speeding away to the north.
At the scene, Ben Frazier of the Northside Coalition told First Coast News, "We need to acknowledge that this is getting out of hand."
Frazer was working at a Stop The Violence event near Moncrief when he learned of the Ken Knight incident.
“It’s beginning to destroy communities, neighborhoods, families and our image as a city,” Frazier said.
While investigating the drive-by, investigators were called to another case at 4:53 p.m.
The case turned out to be a double shooting on Matthew Street on the Westside. Two men were shot and one of them died at the scene. The surviving victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
First Coast News asked the second team sergeant called in to assist about the cases.
“It’s a responsibility we have with our unit that you could be called in for situations like this depending on what type of case it is, the severity of the case, how detailed or how many moving parts there are,” he said.
