JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A corrections officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has pleaded guilty to child abuse.
Darrick Le Marck Scott Jr. was accused of non-sexual child abuse in April.
A police report shows that he initially denied the allegations after evidence of the abuse was discovered.
However, he has now pleaded guilty to the crime.
He will not serve any jail time.
Scott was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
Documents show that he is not banned from seeing the victim, just from having 'violent contact' with the victim.
He worked for JSO for four years and resigned after he was charged with the crime.
