JSO announces two arrests in 2022 murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two suspects in a 2022 murder are in custody, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

On April 18, 2022, the sheriff's office responded to the 6800 block of 103rd Street to a shooting, JSO said. The victim was taken to a local hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and was later pronounced dead.

 Early in the investigation, Alfredo Reyes, 20, and Timothy Elder, 23, were identified as persons of interest.

JSO homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to conduct investigations.

Elder was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence on Nov. 21, according to JSO.

However, Reyes was already awaiting trial in the Duval County Jail on robbery charges was arrested on murder charges Jan. 4.
