ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A Jacksonville man was been arrested Thursday night in connection to a shooting near a community pool Wednesday in St. Johns County, SJCSO said.
The victim was taken to the hospital by helicopter out of the Walden Chase neighborhood Wednesday night following the shooting, the St. Johns County Fire Rescue said. The victim is expected to be OK.
Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office have acquired an arrest warrant for Jeffrey Davis, 21. He was identified as the driver of the suspect vehicle and was taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Thursday evening.
Police on scene said someone in a black Honda Civic shot a 20-year-old man who was outside the car. The vehicle sped off and police said the incident was captured on video.
According to SJCSO, the victim met with multiple occupants in a black Honda Civic at the Walden Chase amenity center to sell marijuana. An argument occurred and the victim was shot multiple times.
Davis is charged with accessory after the fact to aggravated battery and attempted armed robbery. He is in the Duval County Jail and awaiting transfer to St. Johns County.
The suspect vehicle is in law enforcement custody and is being processed for evidence, the sheriff's office said.
