JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A young man died in a shooting in the 2200 block of Edgewood Avenue West in Jacksonville Wednesday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
According to JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff, police received multiple calls about gunfire in the area at 5:30 p.m.
Officers found the victim, who they believe is aged between 16 and 20 years old.
A witness told police they saw two "groups of individuals" running from the area, according to JSO. They do not know if these groups were involved.
"These people that witnessed it, they need to step up and do the right thing," Rudlaff said.
As of 11 p.m., several people had arrived at JSO headquarters to speak to police, Rudlaff said. The victim had not been identified yet.
