JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teenage boy is dead after he was shot in the Hillcrest area of Jacksonville Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO's Sergeant Rudlaff says at approximately 5:25 a.m., the sheriff's office received several 911 calls in reference to the shooting that took place at 1214 Labelle St., near building 26 of Valencia Way Apartments.
When officers arrived, Rudlaff says police found the "17 to 18-year-old" unidentified teen lying on a sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and pronounced the teen dead, police say.
