Jacksonville Sheriff's Office make arrest in connection to Collins Road shooting that left man dead

Gregory Sangle, 43, has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a bulletproof vest while committing certain offenses.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a fatal shooting from Thursday at the 3 Seasons Park apartments on Collins Road.

Police arrived to the complex at 1 p.m. Thursday after a call about a shooting where they found 65-year-old Arthur George found dead from a gunshot wound. 

When police were canvassing the area, they found Gregory Sangle, 43, and took him into custody. JSO said there were several witnesses to the crime and they are being interviewed by JSO. At 2:06 a.m. Friday, JSO told First Coast News that the suspect was identified, located and interviewed during the investigation.

Police have not yet figured out if the suspect and victim knew each other.

Sangle was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a bulletproof vest while committing certain offenses. He made his first appearance in court Friday.
